Editorial Standards & Corrections
Why We Publish
Travel Ready After 50 publishes step-by-step travel planning guides for U.S. readers who value clarity, comfort and reliable information. A good guide should answer a specific real-world question, show the practical next step and make important limitations visible. We do not aim to overwhelm readers with generic travel inspiration.
Our Editorial Principles
- Useful before promotional: Give practical steps and comparisons, not slogans or unsupported promises.
- Official sources for official rules: When writing about air travel rights, passports, entry requirements, safety or public health, prefer the responsible U.S. agency or other official authority.
- Honest about experience: Do not present research or generated imagery as firsthand travel, personal product tests, or verified customer outcomes.
- Label examples: Fictional prices, example itineraries, illustrative budgets and non-live comparisons are clearly distinguished from actual offers.
- Accessible and easy to navigate: Prefer clear language, descriptive headings, meaningful image alternatives, mobile-friendly formatting and links that explain where they lead.
- No universal assumptions: Age, disability, health and income differ; avoid implying every reader has the same capability or spending level.
Research, Drafting and AI Tools
Editorial drafts may be prepared with AI assistance or other digital research tools. AI output can be incorrect, incomplete or outdated, especially on subjects involving changing policies and eligibility. We therefore aim to identify original sources for material rules, check that sources are relevant to the claim, and correct errors that readers or editorial reviews bring to our attention.
Generated illustrative photographs or diagrams are used to explain ideas visually; they should not be interpreted as documentary evidence of an actual hotel, airline service, traveler experience or destination. Photo captions and alternative text should describe the illustration without implying an independent endorsement.
How We Check Time-Sensitive Information
- Identify whether a statement describes stable general advice or a rule that changes.
- Look for the relevant source authority, such as TSA, the U.S. Department of Transportation, CDC, the Department of State or a provider’s own contract.
- Check the applicability of the information: location, nationality, dates, service type and exceptions may matter.
- Use clear language to separate required actions from optional tips or personal preferences.
- State an editorial review date where current official rules materially affect the article and revisit the source when an article is substantively revised.
Accuracy, Updates and Corrections
If you believe a page contains an outdated requirement, broken reference, arithmetic error or potentially misleading example, use the Contact page. Please include the article title or URL, the sentence of concern, and a reputable source when possible. Do not include payment-card details, passport numbers or medical records in a general correction message.
We aim to review credible correction requests, update materially incorrect content and show a new review date when a substantive change warrants one. We do not promise a specific response time until the contact workflow has been tested and a responsible publisher has confirmed its operating process.
Advertising and Commercial Relationships
Independent editorial guides are not paid placement. If a future article is sponsored, or we receive compensation through a commercial link, we will identify the material relationship where required. Advertising, if enabled, does not establish that the site endorses the advertiser. Advertising and data-processing practices are explained separately in the Privacy Policy.
Safety and Professional Boundaries
The website does not book transportation or lodging, provide emergency assistance, replace an airline’s instructions or determine a traveler’s eligibility for government services. Health, insurance, legal and financial decisions require appropriate professional guidance. For urgent travel incidents, contact the airline, hotel, local emergency service, insurer, or relevant government agency directly.
